Over 50 members played in the traditional end of season match.

The Captain Peter Brabbing and Vice Captain Norman Harvey together with Matlock Club Captain Barry Smith and Alfreton stalwart Bob Bostock set off in the first four ball in fine weather.

The Captain won the first match and the trend continued throughout the afternoon with the Captains team overcoming the Vice Captains team by 10 matches to 3.

Barry Smith welcomed everyone to Matlock and was delighted that he had been accepted as a member of the Society. He hoped to take a more active part when his year of office was completed and concluded by thanking the Society for the donation to his chosen charity.

Both the Captain and Vice Captain paid tribute to the course, catering and welcome received. Although this was the last fixture in the Society calendar they hoped that all present would continue to enjoy their golf for the rest of the season and looked forward to seeing everyone at the Annual Dinner on March 24th at Pride Park.

The 2011 fixture will be held at Horsley Lodge Golf Club on 26th September 2011
