The
Sheffield Society of Golf Club Captains hosted the 2010
match at Lees Hall Golf Club near Sheffield on Tuesday 22nd
June.
This popular match was played with 24 a side and after the
first 4 matches Derbyshire held a 3.5 to 0.5 lead. However
the home team rallied to provide a very close finish with
the visitors just coming out on top by 6.5 to 5.5.
The
views over Sheffield were stunning from this undulating
course, and all agreed that it was a course that was to
be revisited.
After a delicious dinner Peter Dyson the Sheffield Captain
welcomed the Derbyshire Captain and his team.
In response Peter Brabbing, after announcing the close result,
praised the hospitality afforded by the Sheffield Society.
It had been a most enjoyable day’s golf on a superb
golf course and epitomised what golf was all about.
Subject to confirmation he welcomed Sheffield to Cavendish
Golf Club in 2011 for what he hoped would be as an enjoyable
day.
