The
Society had the pleasure of the competition being hosted
by Stockport Golf Club again in 2010.
Needless to say, being near Manchester, once again it rained
for most of the afternoon.
Considering the inclement conditions a trio of players returned
a creditable scores of 38 points each.
The winner of the competition was Roger Hardy (Matlock).
This was on count back from second Martin McCarthy (Shirland)
and John Weselby third (Matlock). John Weselby must like
the course as he won the veterans prize the preceding year.
It might be noted that the prize winners all came from the
north of the county.
Harry Carlisle (Cavendish) won the Veterans Prize (35 points)
and Tony Gee (Buxton High Peak) received the prize for Best
Senior (36 points).
The Alan Marchington Millennium Salver was presented to
the winner by the Society Captain for 2010 Peter Brabbing
(Chesterfield), congratulating Stockport Golf Club for the
superb facilities afforded, and concluded by thanking the
Officers of the Society for the arrangements and card marking
assistance.
