Gordon Kelsall (The Shropshire and Hereford Society Captain) and Steve Hawke (The Shropshire G. C. near Telford, Captain) were on hand to greet the Derbyshire team on a lovely summer’s day.

The course is a combination of three 9 hole courses with the Silver and Gold courses being played on this occasion.


The first three matches went the way of the hosts; however Derbyshire rallied and won four of the last five matches to halve the match 4-4.

Thanks were afforded after our post match dinner for the hospitality the Shropshire Society and the host club had provided to ensure that all participants thoroughly enjoyed their day out. Derbyshire host the match in 2010 and the match was eagerly awaited by all hopefully experiencing similar weather conditions.
