Billy
Barker
It is with regret that we report that Billy Barker, Captain of
Tapton Park G. C. in 2006 died of a heart attack whilst at the
Open Golf recently.
The funeral has been arranged for Friday 24th July at Chesterfield
Crematorium at 13:30
He
will be missed by all the members of the Society |

Dinner
Pride Park, the home of Derby County, has been booked for our Annual
Dinner for
Thursday 25th March 2010
Derby County could have their home match due to be played on Saturday
27th March moved to the preceding day Friday 26th, our preferred
date, and could cause us to cancel our dinner. |

Millennium
Salver at Stockport Golf Club
The winner of the competition was Tony Cooper (Erewash Valley)
playing in the last 3 ball. He returned a score of 39 points winning
from Peter Taylor (Bondhay) also 39 points over the last 6 holes.
A close 3rd came from Phil Langham (Ormonde Fields) 39 points
as well but with an inferior back nine.

John
Fitzhugh
The Executive of the Society are sad to report the death of John
Fitzhugh.
John, was a Captain of Derby Golf Club. His funeral will be held
on Monday 2nd February at 12.30pm at Spondon Church, Spondon Derby.
He will be sorely missed by his family as well as all his friends
and fellow golfers.

B. (Barry) Kay
It is with great sadness that we report the death on January 1st
of Barry Kay.
Barry was Captain of Matlock Golf Club in 1981 and a staunch member
of the Society ever since. He was also a Past President &
Secretary of the Derbyshire Union of Golf Clubs and was the Immediate
Past President of the Midland Golf Union
The funeral has been arranged for 1pm Tuesday 20th January and
will be held at St Helens church ~ Darley Dale.

D. (Geoff) Bates
The Executive of the Society are sad to report the death of Geoff
Bates.
Geoff, aged 73, was Captain of Kedleston Park Golf Club in 1987.
He was diagnosed with cancer in July, and died on 30th December.
His funeral will be held on Friday 16th January at St Edmunds Church,
Allestree Derby. He will be sorely missed by his wife Jackie, sons
Nick & James, his two grandchildren as well as all his friends
and fellow golfers.
