G. Weaver
Mickleover Golf Club
Sadly I have to report the death of D G Weaver aged 67.
Derek a member of the Society was Club Captain of Mickleover
Golf Club in 1984 and served the club as Treasurer and Chairman
for many years.
The funeral is at 1.10pm on Thursday 5 January 2012 at Derby
Crematorium.

Graham
Walker
Erewash Valley Golf Club
The
funeral arrangements for Graham Walker
Wednesday 9th November at Bramcote Crematorium 12.30p.m.
Afterwards at the Erewash Valley Golf Club.
The family have asked for family flowers only and anyone who
wishes to make a donation
are asked to make it to 'The British Heart Foundation'.
Graham was Club Captain of Erewash Valley in 1999. He was
an avid supporter of his Club and the Society and will be
greatly missed.

Annual Dinner in 2012 will be held at Pride Park on Friday
30th March.
Official Invitations will be forwarded in January to all members
and guests.

Bob
Bostock,
Bob Bostock sadly died, suddenly, on August 31st. He was Captain
of Alfreton Golf Club in 1985, and latterly in his golfing
life joined Matlock Golf Club.
He attended Society matches and competitions on a very regular
basis, and represented the county only as recently as August
18th at the triangular match with Leicestershire and Cambridgeshire.
The Funeral service for Bob will be held on Tuesday 13th September
at Birchwood Chapel, Birchwood Lane, Somercotes at 12:30 and
afterwards at Horsley Lodge Golf Club.

(Bill) Tyzack,
Sadly Bill Tyzack died recently.
He was a long standing member of Stanedge Golf Club nr Chesterfield
and was elected Club Captain in 1983 and was a member of the
Society since.
Many will remember him as Club Secretary at Stanedge a position
he held for over 20 years until illness prevailed.
The funeral is to be held at Calow Crematorium on Monday 8th
August at 12:30, with a gathering of friends afterwards at
Chesterfield Football Club.
His death follows the recent demise of his cousin Margaret
Tyzack, the actress

Les
Allen,
Les Allen, who was Captain of Ormonde Fields Golf Club in
1985, has sadly died.
He was a regular player until recent years in Society events.
The Society was represented by Society President Spen Stanway,
amongst many other members, at his recent funeral.

Apparel
Peter Mundin was appointed as Assistant Secretary of the Society
at the last AGM.
He succeeds Bill McBay who sadly died late last year. Amongst
his duties is that of dealing with all apparel requests. Shirts,
Sweaters, Ties and Blazer badges are all available from him.

Derbyshire
Captains Qualify for National Finals
Ron Adams (Rotherham) 39pts, Paul Robinson (Shirland) 39pts
and David Bull (Erewash Valley) 37pts have all qualified for
the National Final of the English Golf Captains Tournament.
They came in the top eight at the Hallowes G C on June 7th.
The Society President, Captain and all the members wish them
well at Frilford at the end of August.

Speed recently died after a long illness patiently borne.
David was a Past Captain of Kedleston Park Golf Club and a
staunch supporter of the Society.
The Funeral will be at St Edmund's Church, Allestree, Derby
on Thursday 17th February 2011 at 12:45.
He will be sadly missed by all.

J. (Bill) McBay,
William J. (Bill) McBay, a Past Captain of the Society in
1990 died yesterday, 1st December 2010, of a heart attack.
He was Club Captain at Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club, Wales, in
1974 before relocating to Burton on Trent.
He served the Society for many years as the Assistant Secretary
and will be sadly missed.
The Funeral for has been arranged for Monday 13th
December 2010 at Bretby Crematorium, Burton on Trent,
at 11:15 am

Lamb
Don Lamb, a Past Captain of Chevin Golf Club, and a member
of the Society recently died. He was Club Captain in 2006.
His funeral will be held on Monday 18th October at 2:00 p.m.
at Openwoodgate Methodist Chapel, Near Holbrook, Derby's.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Latham
Graham Latham, who was Captain of Breadsall Priory Golf club
in 2005, sadly suddenly died of a heart attack on Wednesday
29th September. He was playing golf the preceding day and
his demise comes as a great shock to all who knew him. He
was a valued member the Society and of his own club having
held most positions therein and latterly as Honorary Club
Secretary.
The funeral has been arranged for Friday 12th October at Markeaton
Crematorium. 14:40

Jack Aspinal
It
is with great sadness that the Society has learnt that Dr
Jack Aspinal died on Monday 20th September 2010 after a short
illness.
Jack
was Captain of Chevin Golf Club in 1978 and Captain of the
Society in 1991
The
funeral service is to be held at Pentrich Church on Tuesday
5th October at 10:30 am.

Gregory
The
funeral was held on Wednesday 22nd September 2010 at Brailsford,
Derbys, Church of Ken Gregory.
Ken
was Captain of Kedleston Park Golf Club in 1992 and was a
keen supporter of the Society before ill health precluded
him from playing laterly.
The Society was represented the Secretary.
